A strike involving 150 King Kullen employees was called off after union representatives reached a tentative agreement overnight.

Meat and seafood workers at 25 store locations across Long Island say they began the strike due to unfair labor practices.

They called for new contracts with higher wages and better benefits after the most recent deal expired in October.

Details of the tentative agreement are unknown at this time.

King Kullen President and Chief Operating Officer Joseph W. Brown released the following statement on Saturday morning:

“We are very pleased that a tentative agreement has been reached with Local 342. Our meat and seafood associates are an important part of our team, and we value the role they play in serving our customers every day. We appreciate the efforts of everyone involved in the negotiations and look forward to continuing our strong working relationship with Local 342.”
