Over 50 Red Lobster restaurants across the country are closed. The restaurant is auctioning off equipment from closed locations.

yesterdayDozens of Red Lobster restaurants are closing across the U.S., including in New Jersey, according to a liquidator.
The restaurant chain has already closed over 50 Red Lobster locations across the country. News 12’s Lauren Due visited the Ledgewood location where there is currently an auction.
The closure of certain Red Lobsters was reportedly a shock to the those that work there, and to the community as well.
"It's sad. It's been here for so many years so when you see that on the news it's like, what's going on?" said Cindy Mcavoy, of Ledgewood.
Roxbury resident Melody Heart says, "I think that's really sad. I've grown up with Red Lobster. We used to go there for Mother's Day, a lot of sentimental value."

Everything inside the closed locations is up for grabs, including equipment, furniture and more.
The bid starts at $50 on the website. The site says all auctioned items must be picked up end of day Friday. Perishable goods and alcohol are not included. The auction ends Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
Neal Sherman, the CEO and founder of TAGeX Brands, called this the “largest restaurant liquidation ever.”
According to the Red Lobster website, locations in Lawrenceville, East Brunswick and Bridgewater are also temporarily closed.
