A man has been arrested for driving drunk in Islandia and causing a crash that left him seriously injured, police say.
John Whaley, of Miller Place, was driving south on Vets Memorial Highway Thursday around 5 p.m.
Police say he crashed into another car when he tried making a left onto Express Drive South.
Whaley was taken to the hospital for serious injuries and is now facing a DWI charge.
The other driver, a 21-year-old from Central Islip, was also taken to the hospital but is expected to be OK.
