Three major unions in Stratford have endorsed Democratic mayoral challenger Dr. David Chess ahead of the upcoming election.
Police, firefighters, and teamsters made the announcement in a joint statement, citing a breakdown of trust and low morale under Mayor Laura Hoydick's administration.
"Mayor Hoydick has failed to lead, and Stratford is paying the price," union leaders said. "Dr. David Chess is that leader. He listens, he respects our work, and he believes that strong unions make for a stronger Stratford."
Hoydick, a Republican, has served as mayor since 2017 and is running for reelection.
