Body camera footage shows the moment 54-year-old Arvel Marshall ran from police and was caught with a loaded gun.

The chase happened on Oct. 12, outside the Van Wyck Houses.

Two public safety officers approached Marshall because of an open container of alcohol, according to police.

On video one officer is heard asking, "Why is he running?" as he and his partner chase after him.

The two officers eventually captured Marshall and put him in handcuffs. He denied having anything to do with what's inside the black plastic bag.

"Yo that ain't mine. Officers, we were just coming to turn this stuff in, we found it in the hallway," Marshall says on camera.

Video shows the moment an officer discovers a gun inside the bag.

Marshall has been charged with multiple counts, including six counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

According to police sources, Marshall has a long criminal history and has been arrested 19 times.
