Two men are facing multiple charges for a home burglary Saturday in Elmont, according to Nassau police.
Detectives say it happened at 11 a.m. on Hoffman Avenue.
Police arrested Luis Ramos and Steeve Severe at the scene.
The charges against Ramos, who police say was undomiciled, include burglary, grand larceny, criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools.
Severe was charged with burglary, grand larceny and criminal mischief.
Neighbors told News 12 they were surprised to hear about the break-in.
"It's very quiet around here. I even walk my puppies really late at night…I feel safe here, I would never expect that,” said Melanni M.
It was not immediately clear if anyone was inside the house at the time of the burglary or who called it in.
