This Afternoon: Mostly cloudy overall, but still warm with afternoon temperatures reaching the upper 70s near the coast and lower to middle 80s inland across the city and nearby suburbs. Humidity levels will be noticeable, though not oppressive. Clouds may limit some of the daytime heating, but it will still feel very summer-like away from the shoreline. Lightweight clothing is recommended, though those near the water may notice cooler ocean breezes. A brief shower could develop in a few spots, but most of the day stays dry.
During the late afternoon and evening, a cold front moving through the area could trigger a few more isolated showers or thunderstorms. Coverage appears limited, so many neighborhoods may not see rain at all, but keep an umbrella handy just in case for the evening commute or outdoor plans.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of lingering showers or an isolated thunderstorm early in the evening. Temperatures cool into the lower to middle 60s overnight as drier air begins moving in. Conditions become more comfortable late at night with lowering humidity.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, breezy, and noticeably cooler with highs ranging from the upper 60s to lower 70s. The air will feel much fresher compared to midweek, making it a great day for outdoor activities. A light jacket or sweatshirt may feel comfortable during the morning and evening hours, especially near the waterfront.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear and cool with overnight temperatures dipping into the upper 50s to near 60 degrees. Good sleeping weather returns with lower humidity and refreshing nighttime conditions.
Friday: Mostly sunny with highs in the lower 70s. Comfortable humidity and light breezes continue. Excellent weather for outdoor plans, walking, or dining outside. Skies stay mostly dry through the daytime hours.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy with temperatures settling into the lower 60s. A weak disturbance approaching from the north may bring a spotty shower late at night, but most areas remain dry.
Saturday: Mostly sunny with highs in the lower 70s. There is a slight chance for a passing shower, especially east of New York City toward Long Island and coastal Connecticut, but this will not be a washout. Most of the day should feature pleasant weather with a mix of sun and clouds. A light layer may still be useful near the beaches where cooler breezes continue.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy and cool with lows in the middle to upper 50s.
Sunday: Sunny and seasonably comfortable with afternoon temperatures in the lower 70s. Low humidity and light winds will make for excellent outdoor conditions across the city, parks, and beaches.
Monday: Mostly sunny and pleasant with highs in the lower 70s. Comfortable humidity continues with dry weather expected for most of the area.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny with temperatures edging slightly warmer into the lower to middle 70s. Another comfortable late-spring day is expected with light winds and seasonable humidity.
Beach & Ocean Conditions: A moderate risk of rip currents is expected Wednesday at area beaches due to lingering ocean swells and onshore wave action. Even though weather conditions may look calm, dangerous currents can still develop. Swim only near lifeguards and use extra caution if entering the water.
