Temperatures for today were nearly 20 degrees warmer versus the same time yesterday. This warmup will be brief. We will cool down for Friday and even more into the weekend, with a frontal system bringing rain, clouds, cooler temperatures and potential disruptions to the weekend plans.
Friday will be mostly dry but dreary, with clouds hanging around throughout the day. Peeks of sunshine are possible, with a stray shower arriving later in the day. Friday night into early Saturday will bring waves of rain. Saturday will be a soaker with on and off showers throughout the day, with the potential for some thunderstorms and pockets of downpours.
Our drought has worsened throughout the 5 boroughs, with the entire New York City area now in a moderate drought.
