A boil water advisory for Verona is expected to last through at least Saturday due to a
water main break, according to officials.
Verona officials say although the break has been repaired, the advisory will remain in place for the time being. Water pressure should have returned to normal, according to officials.
“This morning, samples are being taken from strategic locations throughout town as per guidelines. They are then analyzed by the Townships Water Department and submitted to the NJDEP for approval,” officials posted on the town’s
website.
They said the process will continue into Saturday afternoon.
“Continue to boil water used for cleaning, human or pet consumption. Refrain from swallowing water when showering or bathing,” officials wrote.
Thursday’s water main break was one of several across the state. About 15,000 Verona residents were impacted.
