Battle continues to extinguish wildfire near Greenwood Lake
16h agoA wildfire on the border of Burlington and Camden counties is 90% contained, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.
Officials say that the fire in Evesham and Voorhees townships impacted 360 acres of land. They said that the wildfire was originally spotted by the Medford Fire Tower Thursday morning.
“Early on in the fire fight 104 structures were threatened by the fire causing the evacuation of 12 homes. Evacuation orders were lifted at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7,” officials stated.

Sycamore Avenue, Kettle Run Road and access to the Sturbridge Lakes Development have all reopened.
Fire crews will remain on the scene for the next several days to make sure that the fire does not further spread or get any bigger.
Officials say that smoke will remain in the area “until significant rain falls.” It has not rained in New Jersey in 40 days, leading to a significant fire risk.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
