A car crashed into a home on Craig Road in Manalapan and burst into flames early Tuesday.
The fire spread to the house on the side it hit.
Neighbor Shawnee Fitch tells News 12 that she heard the crash around 5 a.m. She says a woman and her dog, sleeping in a room next to the impact area, escaped safely. However, the woman was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
Fitch reported her husband aided EMS personnel in pulling the unconscious driver from the car.
No details were given on the driver’s injuries or the crash’s cause.
The car reignited shortly before 7:30 a.m. and firefighters scrambled to put it out once again.
