        Officials: 1 injured in Westport house fire

        Firefighters found fire in an attached garage and due to a large response, they were able to stop the fire from spreading to the main portion of the residence.

        One person was taken to the hospital after a house fire in Westport Friday.
        It happened on Tarone Drive around 3:40 p.m.
        Firefighters found fire in an attached garage and due to a large response, they were able to stop the fire from spreading to the main portion of the residence.
        Everyone inside was able to get out of the home prior to firefighters arriving, according to authorities.
        One resident was injured and taken to Norwalk Hospital to be evaluated. Their condition is not known as of Saturday morning.
        The fire is under investigation by the Westport Fire Marshal.
        Firefighters are reminding residents to make sure they have working smoke detectors installed in their homes.
