A 51-year-old man was fatally stabbed Saturday evening in Mott Haven and his accused killer was arrested hours later, the NYPD says.
Police say they responded to a call at E. 149th street and 3rd Avenue around 7 p.m. to find 51-year-old Juan Boria with stab wounds to his stomach. He was rushed to the hospital where he died.
Hours later, police arrested and charged 52-year-old Robert Brent with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
The circumstances surrounding the incident were not detailed by police.
A local resident said this area of Mott Haven is dangerous.
"I know this neighborhood by heart and everything I see around here is crazy. I see people fighting and getting stabbed, it's crazy out here and it's really sad," said Paez Melarejo.
