NJ Transit is bracing for potential impacts to service ahead of Sunday and Monday's snowstorm.

NJ Transit President and CEO Kris Kolluri said he expects train, bus and light rail service to continue on schedule throughout the day Sunday and into the evening. As of Saturday, there were no service cancellations or changes announced for Monday, but Kolluri said that could change. He said NJ Transit will make their recommendation to Gov. Mikie Sherrill about whether there should be changes to service based on what conditions are looking like going into Monday morning.

"I see no point of running a service if we're going to have people stuck between train stations with no heat, no electricity, and we have to go rescue them," Kolluri said. "Ultimately, we care about the safety of our residents, not that we randomly want to provide service because it sounds good."
