Five people are in the hospital after a wrong-way crash on the Hutchinson River Parkway in New York.
Police say it happened just after midnight Monday.
Officers identified the wrong way driver as 75-year-old Joan Feinstein, the former mayor of Rye Brook.
Feinstein was driving a 2024 Mercedes sedan southbound in the northbound lanes when she collided with a 2018 Dodge Durango.
The Dodge was driven by 49-year-old Mordechai Sandman, of New Haven. Sandman was accompanied by his wife and three children. Four members of the family were injured, but they are all expected to be ok.
Officials say Feinstein suffered serious injuries and remains hospitalized at the Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla.
The parkway was closed for several hours while officials investigated. The lanes reopened after 7 a m.
The cause is still being investigated.
