Marvin Elementary School received a $20,000 grant that will be used to buy computers and other electronic devices for teaching writing, math and interactive science simulations.
The grant comes from Optimum Business through the company's partnership with DonorsChoose.
"Through DonorsChoose we are able to help teachers out who have special projects and needs in their classrooms. The Optimum employees are able to donate to those projects," said Esme Lombard, Optimum spokesperson. "We have so many employees who live, work ... live and work in the communities and really want to engage in the classrooms and help our local schools and teachers on their projects."
Optimum is the sister company of News 12 Connecticut.
