        She’s the pride of Baldwin.
NASA astronaut, Lt. Col. Jasmin Moghbeli, spent more than six months in space on the International Space Station.
The Baldwin-raised astronaut, who was born in Germany, spoke to students about her time in space.
“I believe a lot in the power of the mind and I believe that people, you know, my parents and my teachers believing in me and never making me question myself, is why I’m here today," she says.
Moghbeli is a mom of 3-year-old twins.
Asked if it was a hard to decision to head to space, she said: “No. I think for me, I’ve always known this is what I want to do and I want my girls to pursue their dreams, too. I don’t want them to just give that up when they have kids someday, so for me this is just kind of showing them and being an example for them of what I would like them to do as well.”
She is set to be honored at the museum Thursday night.
