The City of Bridgeport is holding Restaurant Week 2024 from Nov 3 to Nov. 9 as a way of showcasing restaurants and stimulating the local economy, city officials said Wednesday.
"Helping to bring money into the city is a great thing, especially during these tough economic times," said Eric Bryson, who owns Miss Thelma's Restaurant on Fairfield Avenue.
"We're proud to be one of many Bridgeport restaurants taking part in this effort because it's a great way for our small business community to shine," Bryson said.
Jason Chandersingh, who works for the City of Bridgeport, said Restaurant Week features 30 local restaurants and brings "urgently needed" outside dollars into the city.
"Bridgeport has any amazingly diverse array of restaurants and that's what we're highlighting here," Chandersingh said.
Mayor Joe Ganim said Restaurant Week is "an economic boon" for the city.
"It's s a great tradition and we're excited to see our amazing local restaurants taking part in an effort that offers something for everyone. It's the ultimate win-win," said Ganim.
