TROPICS: There are THREE systems being monitored by the National Hurricane Center.
- Kirk is in the central Atlantic Ocean and is forecast to move northwest in the open waters, strengthening to a potential major hurricane. It doesn't pose a threat to any landmasses but may kick up some wave activity for Bermuda by the weekend.
- Tropical Depression 13 recently formed near the Azores (by the west coast of Africa) and will strengthen into a potential hurricane by the weekend. The next name on the list is Leslie.
- The third disturbance is in the western Caribbean Sea and has a 0-40% chance of development in the next two to seven days as it heads northwestward into the Gulf of Mexico.
Forecast:
THURSDAY: Early clouds give way to more afternoon sunshine. Slightly warmer. Highs around 72 degrees. Lows around 56 degrees.
FRIDAY: Pick of the week with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs around 75 degrees. Lows near 58 degrees.
SATURDAY: Cloudy with a few morning rain showers. Sunshine tries to break out into the afternoon. Highs around 74 degrees. Lows near 52 degrees.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Highs around 72 degrees. Lows near 54 degrees.
MONDAY: Mainly cloudy with scattered rain showers, primarily in the morning. Sun may try to break out for the afternoon. Highs around 67 degrees. Lows near 49 degrees.
TUESDAY: Mainly sunny to partly cloudy. Highs around 65 degrees. Lows near 47 degrees.
