Residents at a Melrose apartment building say the lack of elevator service is affecting their health - and their pleas for help are being ignored.
Both elevators in the building have been broken for nearly four months.
Tenants say they’ve heard the same excuse week after week, despite promises from management at Wave Quest that repairs are on the way.
Tenant Madelyn Archers says she relies on regular doctor visits but now struggles to leave her apartment.
Paramedics recently spent over two hours helping her up and down the stairs after a fall.
“I’m crying because this hurts,” she says. “I really need to get this [dental procedure] done before my gums get infected.”
Tenant Ruth Camacho says she’s been forced to climb flights of stairs post-surgery and is frustrated by the lack of urgency and communication from Wave Quest.
“Nobody cares,” she says.
Residents say management rarely picks up the phone and that it's always the same voicemail and they never get a follow-up call.
"I feel very sad because I’m unable to do anything,” said Archers.
