The City of Norwalk is currently under a drought advisory, and officials are urging residents to conserve water by following mandatory irrigation restrictions now in place.
Mayor Barbara Smyth’s administration is reminding the community that a two-day-per-week watering limit is being enforced. The schedule is based on the last digit of each property’s address and is designed to reduce strain on water resources during ongoing dry conditions.
Residents whose address ends in an even number — 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8 — may water only on Sundays and Wednesdays. Those with addresses ending in an odd number — 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9 — may water only on Saturdays and Tuesdays. On approved days, irrigation is permitted during the early morning hours between 12:01 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., as well as in the evening from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.
City officials say conditions will continue to be monitored closely, and updates will be provided if restrictions change. Residents are asked to follow the guidelines and do their part to help conserve water during the advisory.
