Well, we made it to Friday. Time for Main Street, Connecticut, a chance to showcase our local towns and cities and all they have to offer. This week we're in Stamford. News 12 Connecticut's Mark Sudall is at Sucker Punch Comics with more. Mark. Oh, come on. Oh well, this is why I haven't played pinball in a little while because I'm not very good at it, I guess. Well, we are just on the upper end of Hope Street in Stamford, not far from Twin Rinks, and joining me today is Clark Kent, uh, not. To be mistaken with uh actually Darren Pelliquin, thank you so much for being with us. You've been around here for what, about 9 months now? Yes sir. And how many comics do you have? Well, currently on the floor we have roughly about 10,000 or so back issues, anything from Thor to uh Superman, Spider-Man, Batman. We have, we have it all really. And what, what else do you have besides comics? Well, other than our new releases, we have pop figures. You need those for everywhere, you know, everywhere you go. We have action figures, we have video games, we have a lot of pop culture items, Stanford being the home of WWE, we do have. Wrestling, we have some wrestling um memorabilia, some uh some stuff in that vein. We have, we have it all really trading cards, sports cards. Um, vinyl records, VHS, Hot Wheels, we carry it all really we do. We're kind of the one stop shop for Stanford when it comes to your collectible needs. So if you're a gee if you're a geek or a nerd, please, please come on down. We'd love to have you. Yes, I can attest to that. I'm one of those for sure. Hey, now tell me, it seemed like for a while there, you know, folks kind of had gotten a. Away from collectibles, but are they coming back? They've never gone away. OK, they've never gone away. They, they do a generational change every so often it's kind of a gray area, but no collectibles, people like to collect things and uh a lot of that's nostalgia and that will never go away so we're here to take care of any of those needs whether it be cards, comics, vinyl. Action figures we got it now as a kid growing up, uh, what was your most prized collectible? My most prized collectible, gosh, um, I don't know. I, I, it's just a lot of uh items from like my childhood being a Hot Wheels or. Uh, comics, but, uh, it was always X-Men #1 in the spawn issue number 8, that kind of where my, it's odd number 8, but it's always the what that is. It's that's when I first got introduced to Spawn uh Todd McFarlane, so. Yeah, it's, it's hard to pin that one down. It's hard to it's really hard to pin that one down. I was more of a video game guy than anything, but I had some comics and collectibles. Yeah, yeah, well, I mean, anybody's head would spin in this place just seeing everything that you have, we do have a lot of stuff here, yeah, and, uh, we appreciate you giving us the time. It's good stuff. You wanna, you know, beef up your comic collection. Here's the place to go, Becky. I bet it's a hot spot in the neighborhood. OK, Mark, thanks very much.

Well, we made it to Friday. It's time for Main Street, Connecticut, a chance to showcase our local towns and cities and all they have to offer. And this week we're in Stamford. News 12 Connecticut's Mark Sudall is at the, uh, the So Fresh Donut Company with more for us. I love it. Mark, sounds good. Uh Oh, it smells good back here. Let me tell you that. I can't wait to taste it here in a little bit either. They're open 5 days a week off Mondays and Tuesdays, but, uh, boy, they are really bringing it here. I want to introduce you to Stanley Vodolowski. That's Polish fur. How you doing? Uh, you have some amazing doughnuts here and, and they're gourmet. Tell us all about these amazing doughnuts. Yes, uh, here at So Fresh Donuts, we're an artisanal mini gourmet facility. As you see, we have no shelves on our walls here at the store. We constantly make fresh doughnuts. All day long we have our donut machine right here in front, so it's a kind of what you see, what you get situation. You get to watch us make the doughnuts live, decorate them, and service them out. Uh, when we first started this business, we wanted to have something that was made fresh and would be kind of unique in the area. So we settled on doughnuts and uh we began making them from home on, you know, practicing at home, and then we eventually did a proof of concept somewhere else. Uh, then after a couple of years of being there, people were coming to the stadium saying that they were just coming for our donuts, so we were able to sign a lease here. Yes, so you did you used to sell them in Bridgeport right at the arena, Bank Arena, and it was a great experience there. We were very thankful. The season holders were so happy to have our donuts that we chose to go the next step and open up our location here. It's myself and my girlfriend Laurie Abba. Her brother Sean Aba is our general manager here at the facility. And as you see, which are, we're so grateful for our Google reviews and the people that come in because they always say we're very kind and personable, and we keep a very clean, clean place. You got some interesting names here, the, the Fruity Pebbler, date night. What's, what's date night? You know, everybody wants to spice up their night a little bit. Why not a little hot pink and chocolate. We've also got fruity pebblers. We've got Oreo rush. We've got my personal favorite, the cozy caramel, which is a salted caramel doughnut with caramel drizzle on it. So delicious. Uh, we also do a lot of parties. For country clubs, venture capital firms, WWE, Empire State Realty Trust, Greenwich Plaza, Round Hill Country Club, Eus Arden Country Club, Dari Country Club. We do a lot of private parties. We've even had in our, in our first year of service, we had a lady change her. Baby's first birthday party from 10 p.m. to 4 p.m. just to have us there to make the doughnuts. Some people really, really love and believe in our product, and we are so thankful for that. All right, I got to try one of these now. And by the way, they're also at the Norwalk Oyster Festival if I remember. This is what a little cinnamon, it's still warm. That's a big difference with our donut shop versus a lot of other places.
