This morning, most of the main roads, including the Long Island Expressway and parkways, were fairly clear. Public works crews were plowing secondary and local residential roads before sunrise.
“Not too bad,” Bethpage resident John Dixson said. “I think the town of Oyster Bay did a great job. Even the back roads. I was able to pull right out of my neighborhood no problems at all.”
“The roads are good,” West Babylon resident Keith Cuiffo said. “They’re not bad. They did a good job. They’re a little slippery on the side roads but the main roads are good.”
The utility companies are not reporting any major storm-related outages across the area.
Drivers should still take it slow this morning even if the roads look clear in case ice has formed along wet roads with temperatures well below freezing.
