Commuters can expect to see more of a police presence on the subway platforms and on trains.
One-hundred NYPD officers will be stationed inside trains from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning tonight.
It’s the first phase of Gov. Hochul’s subway safety plan in NYC. Subway riders who spoke with News 12 said it's a step in the right direction.
Additional phases will be rolled out over the coming weeks with the expectation that the full operation will be complete by the end of the month.
