It's a beautiful Thursday and the daytime should remain dry despite increasing clouds. Spotty showers are expected tonight and early Friday morning, but it won't be enough to put a dent in our drought.
As of this morning's drought update, a severe drought remans in effect across the city. This is despite more than 1" of rain falling on Monday and Tuesday. We are still running more than 5" below average since January 1st. This is a deficit of more than 1 month's worth of rain.

This evening is partly cloudy and mild with temperatures in the 80s. A stray shower is possible this evening. A passing shower is expected tonight and early tomorrow morning. Low temperatures are in the upper 60s.
Friday is mainly cloudy and humid. A stray shower is possible before 9 a.m. Temperatures are in the mid 80s but feel like 90 degrees. A stray shower is possible in the afternoon.
Rain is possible Friday night and Saturday morning. A risk for rain remains in our forecast for the first half of Saturday but the chance will decrease Saturday evening. Sunday is likely dry, but it is still humid so a pop up shower or storm cannot be ruled out. Temperatures this weekend are in the mid 80s.
Next week will be hot with a potential heat wave on Wednesday through at least next Friday. Temperatures will soar into the mid 90s but could even approach 100-degrees.
