A 42-year-old Lindenhurst man is facing an attempted murder charge after stabbing another man numerous times, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney.
Tesfa Tucker has been indicted in connection to the attack at the Putnam Gardens apartment complex in Lindenhurst.
Investigators found that Tucker hit a 27-year-old in the head and body with a large knife while apparently yelling at the man on Feb. 17. The man who was attacked was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with multiple skull fractures, lacerations on the head and neck and two severed fingers.
Tierney called the attack “a brutal and dangerous outbreak of violence.”
Police executed a search warrant at Tucker’s apartment and recovered the alleged weapon which had “red staining consistent with blood,” according to Tierney.
Tucker has been remanded and faces 25 years in jail if convicted.
He is due back in court on April 16.
