And joining us right now is GOP strategist TJ McCormack. Thanks so much for joining us, TJ. Good morning, Jen. Good morning. So what can we expect from the new Trump administration in the next coming days? Well, I mean, if, if he lives up to his promises, and he has a lot of promises to keep, uh, we're going to see a lot of change immediately, you know, when, when he takes the oath of office, he eventually ends up at the Oval Office and he'll be signing over the course of a few hours, as you mentioned, upwards of 200 executive orders, uh, right off the bat, he has already, we already. The effects of the of the the Trump term with movement in the Middle East, people are taking us very, very seriously now. The rest of the world has to put their money where their mouth is. We have had hostages released, a ceasefire in place in the Middle East. That was no doubt because they knew a strong administration was coming. We saw a step towards freedom of speech with TikTok coming back. TikTok is a hot button issue, but you know what, I will always err on the side of free speech, as I would hope all Americans would, and that's an effect of the Trump administration right off the bat. And something that was a hot button issue here in New York, in Westchester, we're going to start seeing some movement when it comes to biological males in girls' sports. Donald Trump has promised to issue executive orders eliminating that possibility of men and women's safe spaces. That was something that was debated here in New York and the GOP firmly on the side of keeping biological men out of women's sports and girls safe spaces. That apparently will be something that the president tackles before night falls tonight in Washington. And what kind of influence will New Yorkers have on the Trump administration, do you think? Uh, well, you know what, look, hey, he's, you know, he overperformed in New York and specifically deep blue Westchester County. He did better than he did by dozens of points in his previous forays here in Westchester and, and, you know, other Republicans did mighty well. We returned uh Mike Lawler to his seat in Congress, for example, so the coattails were long and They were strong. And I believe if the president starts coming through on his promises and does the right thing and New Yorkers and also the salt cap reductions, that will be a big one if New York homeowners start seeing a benefit to his administration. It could very well do good things for us here in Westchester because we're about to launch a campaign for the special election for Westchester County Executive and our unbelievably qualified, uh, Christine. Sculti is ready to take that election and the Trump effect could have a lot of positive things to say in that special election. Election day is February 11th. It's coming right up, and Christine Sculte is our nominee, and she's going to do a fantastic job as the first woman Westchester County executive. We have our eyes on everything. And joining us right now this morning to talk more about the new Trump administration is former state senator David Carlucci. Thanks so much for joining us, David. I can't hear you. Hopefully you can, uh, tune the audio or if you're, if your uh mic is muted. You could probably hear me, but we can't hear you. Hopefully if you can maybe turn up the volume or hit the unmute button on your computer. Hm. There we go. Can you hear me now? I hear you now. Thanks so much for joining us, David. Um, so what kind of uh immediate changes will we likely see from the new Trump administration, do you think? Well, it's a good question, um, and I appreciate Donald Trump's optimism in getting all of these things done in such a short amount of time. Um, however, unfortunately, a lot of things that Donald Trump is promising to do on day one, I believe just won't happen because of the way our government works. For example, he's talked about TikTok. Um, the, the government, the Congress passed, uh, this law, um, both the, the Congress and President Biden signed it. It's not that the new president can just undo these laws, um, and we see that time and time again and the things that Donald Trump has promised, whether it's ending birthright citizenship. Um, things like that will take time. Um, Donald Trump does have a lot of power and influence over Congress, so I imagine he can work with them to get things passed, but a lot of these executive orders, um, I think will take time and it'll be more of a symbolic gesture than actually getting them done um through just executive order by the president. And kind of focusing now locally, are there, what changes will we see right here in New York State compared to when Biden was president, do you think? Well, I think a lot of it is just that is you'll see a lot of more action, almost like catnip for the media. Um, the way that Donald Trump talks is a lot more exciting, and I think we'll see a lot more of um action in that way, but in terms of real legislation getting passed, um, it's gonna be this nibbling on the edges in terms of executive orders. Um, we've seen this before with Donald Trump. He promised a lot in his first administration on day one. But he didn't really get a lot done on day one. He did a few, um, actually I think just one executive order. um, so promising all of this, I think it's just more symbolic, and I think that will filter through. What we've got to hope for is that Donald Trump does not repeal things like the CHPS Act. Um, we have a $100 billion investment from just micron, a commitment because of things like the CIPs Act. Um, if that is undone, that could be detrimental to uh New York State and the entire economy. So I'm hopeful that he acts more with a scalpel and not a machete, um, in this administration. A lot to unfold, a lot to see, of course, we'll keep our eyes on it all. David Carducci, thank you so much for joining us this morning. Great to be with you. Thanks.
