14ds agoThe wait is almost over for fans of Wegmans Food Markets.
The supermarket chain is preparing to open the doors on its first store on Long Island early next year on Feb. 26.
The 101,000-square-foot market boasts a large prepared foods section, grab-and-go area and dedicated space for pizza, sushi, salads and sandwiches - in addition to grocery store staples, like produce, deli, meat, seafood and bakery.
Store management tells News 12 more than 500 full- and part-time employees will be hired, and many seeking employment have been familiar with the store from experiencing its other locations along the East Coast.
