The Huntington Cinema Arts Centre announced Friday that Dylan Skolnick is returning as director of the theater.
Skolnick, son of the theater’s founder and longtime co-director, was fired in September over allegations of
“serious misconduct”.
Fans, film historians and patrons voiced concern over the decision and demanded more information from the organization’s board.
The theater confirmed his return this afternoon on Facebook, citing an “outpouring of support for Dylan and concern for the Cinema's future.”
The agreement was made following a series of meetings between Skolnick and the Board of Directors, according to the post.
The announcement also stated that the theater will begin to undergo a “realignment process.”
A new co-director will be joining Skolnick in the coming months. Both co-directors and the Board of Directors will attend “additional training focused on effective governance, leadership, accountability and fostering a positive workplace culture.”
