Four men have been indicted on racketeering, human trafficking, promoting prostitution and other charges in connection with an alleged scheme that forced two women to engage in commercial sex acts in South Jersey, prosecutors announced Friday.

Keith B. Woodson, 40, of Camden; Lee A. Byrd, 62, of Philadelphia; Raymond H. Cooper, 48, of Sicklerville; and Andre A. Lindsey, 41, of Woodlynne were charged with racketeering, conspiracy to commit human trafficking, promoting organized street crime, human trafficking by threat of harm and human trafficking by drug facilitation, along with other offenses, according to the New Jersey Attorney General's Office.

Prosecutors allege Woodson forced two women to perform commercial sex acts in exchange for money and narcotics through violence, threats and coercion.

According to the indictment, Woodson allegedly advertised one victim on illicit sex websites, arranged meetings with patrons, rented hotel rooms and collected the money she received. Prosecutors say he threatened to harm the woman and her family if she refused or attempted to leave.

Authorities also allege Woodson recruited a second victim at a Camden bus stop by promising she could earn $1,000 a day. Prosecutors say he instead supplied her with drugs, required her to turn over money earned through commercial sex acts and assaulted and threatened to kill her and her family if she did not comply.

The indictment alleges Byrd, Cooper and Lindsey helped traffic one of the victims by driving her to hotels, standing watch outside and collecting money after the encounters. Cooper is also accused of supplying drugs that Woodson provided to one of the victims.

Attorney General Jennifer Davenport said the indictment describes "a cycle of violence and abuse" used to force the victims into prostitution.
