Exclusive: Residents believe Belmont apartment fire was intentionally set

A fire ripped through the top floor of a Belmont apartment building early Thursday morning.
The fire started around 5:20 a.m. at 2179 Washington Ave. on the top floor.
People who live in the building tell News 12 they believe a neighbor who had previously made threats intentionally set the fire.
FDNY is still investigating the cause, and the American Red Cross was seen on scene assisting displaced families.
