Police have still not identified the man found dead in an East Shoreham pool on Sunday.
Authorities say that the man’s body was found under a pool cover at a Pal Court home. They say the homeowner removed the pool cover and found the man’s body underneath.
When asked if the body found in East Shoreham is that of the young man accused of killing his father in Rocky Point, Suffolk Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina said:
"We don't have a definitive ID on the body yet, however, based on the location where the body was found - proximity we believe to be the crash site of Matthew Zoll - the clothing, the fact there were no shoes on the individual; we are investigating the possibility - the strong possibility - that it would be Matthew Zoll. We are currently waiting for a DNA analysis to confirm that. Based again on the [evidence] we were able to uncover, we are investigating that strong possibility."
Neighbors say that this is a quiet neighborhood and that nothing like this has happened before.
"People walk around. Kids are around. And to think of that, it’s crazy,” said neighbor Brett Limoncelli.
Suffolk police tell News 12 Long Island that no new information was available about the incident.
