Dry October comes to an end as light rain expected early Friday morning

There is a chance of some raindrops during the Friday morning commute. It is not looking especially impressive in terms of rainfall amounts.

A rain-free Halloween means that we close out October with no measurable rain at Newark.
October 2024 was not only the driest October on record for Newark, but also the driest month on record. We will likely set another record today for the warmest Halloween! Newark saw temperatures reach 83 degrees, whereas the record high was 82 degrees set in 1946. I am waiting for the daily climate report from the NWS to confirm officially but this will likely stand.
There is a chance of some raindrops during the Friday morning commute. It is not looking especially impressive in terms of rainfall amounts. But roads may become slippery due to fallen leaves and grime buildup from a lack of rain.
Friday also brings a red flag warning due to the dry conditions, low humidity, and gusts up to 30 mph.
TONIGHT: Low of 63. A pleasant and warm trick-or-treating experience. Late rain is expected into early Friday.
FRIDAY: High of 79, low of 48. Light rain in the morning gives way to a partly cloudy afternoon and evening that clears as we go throughout the day.
SATURDAY: High of 62, low of 42. Closer to the temps we expect at this point in November. Sunny and beautiful.
SUNDAY: High of 59, low of 48. Sun and clouds.
MONDAY: High of 57, low of 47. Sun, clouds, chance of mid-day rain (not looking major).
ELECTION DAY TUESDAY: High of 68, low of 54. Sun and clouds. Perfect day for voting!
