A 24-year-old Atlantic County corrections officer has been arrested for sexually assaulting an inmate in her cell, according to prosecutors.

Sebastian Flores-Huamani, of Mays Landing, has been charged with second-degree sexual assault and second-degree official misconduct, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. He was arrested at his home without incident Tuesday.

The Atlantic County Justice Facility Professional Standards Unit contacted the prosecutor's office on Sept. 4 after the inmate reported the attack to the facility.

Flores-Huamani resigned from his position at the Atlantic County Justice Facility last month, according to an Atlantic County spokesperson.
