Clouds will linger across the city this evening as a storm system slowly pulls away. Skies will gradually clear overnight with a light breeze and cool temperatures settling into the 50s.
Saturday: A much better day ahead for New York City, with a mix of sunshine and clouds and noticeably warmer temperatures. Afternoon highs climb into the upper 70s to lower 80s, while humidity stays fairly comfortable. It will be cooler near the south-facing shores due to an onshore breeze.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy and mild with pleasant overnight conditions continuing across the city.
Sunday: Summer-like warmth takes over with highs pushing well into the 80s across much of the city. A stray shower can’t be completely ruled out, but most of the day looks dry, warm, and comfortable. Again, it will be cooler near the south-facing shores due to an onshore breeze.
Early Next Week: The warming trend continues with temperatures climbing even higher Monday through Wednesday. Some spots around the metro area could approach 90 degrees by the middle of next week, giving the city its warmest stretch so far this season.
Water Safety Reminder: While the weather will be great for boating and waterfront activities this weekend, ocean and bay water temperatures are still only in the lower 50s. Anyone heading out on boats, kayaks, or paddleboards should use extra caution, since cold water can quickly lead to hypothermia if someone falls in.
