Overnight Wind Gusts
- A cold front passed through overnight and has brought wind gusts generally in the 30 mph range across Connecticut. Max wind gusts at Bridgeport reached 39 mph, but other observation stations closer to the sound have reached wind gusts as high as 46 mph. These winds will continue to die down throughout the morning.
- A low water advisory is in effect during low tide this morning. The advisory will end at 9 a.m.
ALERTS:
- The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for coastal Fairfield and New Haven counties in effect for tonight.
- The Wind Advisory remains in effect for early this morning. Wind gusts could occasionally reach 40 mph.
FORECAST:
Cold weather is on the way for the end of the work week. The wind overnight is dying down, but a chilly breeze will remain for the rest of the day. Today's high temperature Is near 50 degrees, but it will feel like it's in the 40s when you factor the wind chill.
Compared to yesterday's high of 62F, it's a big change. Frost advisories are in effect tonight for neighborhoods in Fairfield and New Haven counties that have not seen a freeze yet.
Temperatures will drop to the low 30s and winds will be calm Friday morning.
There's a brief warm up on the way for the end of the work week before rain and even colder weather arrives for the start of next work week and for Veterans Day.
