Cement truck brings down electrical poles in Baldwin after hitting low wires
Wires were strewn across a residential Baldwin street after a cement truck hit low wires and pulled three electrical poles down, causing a power outage.
According to Nassau police, the call came in at 1:44 p.m. for a cement truck that crashed on Forest Avenue in Baldwin. The road is currently closed by police between Schuman Place and Barthe Drive.
The driver of the truck was uninjured, but power went out for 28 PSEG customers, as crews are now working on scene to restore their electricity. Two of the poles are owned by Verizon, PSEG says, which have also been contacted to help restore power.
There is currently no estimated time for power restoration yet.
