Brooklyn’s skyline has a new addition, and it’s not just tall, it’s trying to build connections. The Brook, located at 567 Fulton St., stands as Brooklyn’s sixth-tallest building, rising 52 stories over Downtown Brooklyn’s bustling transit hubs, historic venues like the Brooklyn Paramount, and a mix of longtime local shops.
With nearly 600 residential units, including 170 designated as affordable housing starting at around $1,800 a month, The Brook blends luxury amenities with a focus on community engagement. For residents, the sense of connection inside the massive tower may come as a surprise.
“There’s like 600 units or something like that in the building. I feel less like a number and more like a person,” said Stafford Jones, a resident at The Brook.
The building’s features an outdoor pool, basketball court, fitness center, library, lounge, and dog run, but its management team says the real emphasis is on fostering relationships both inside and outside the building.
“Everyone is joined together in this particular area,” said Jon Epstein, The Brook’s leasing manager. “It really makes for a binding part of the community to have all these different neighborhoods so close together.”
That focus on community extends beyond the walls of the skyscraper. Monique Walker, The Brook’s resident experience coordinator, helps connect tenants to nearby businesses in the surrounding historic Brooklyn area.
“It’s important to really establish connections with local businesses,” Walker said. “That’s great for residents looking for work opportunities, and great for the community, too.”
Adding to that local synergy, The Brook is already drawing attention for one of its upcoming tenants, Din Tai Fung, the internationally renowned Taiwanese dumpling restaurant. It is slated to open a location in the building by 2027.
“There’s over 16 different locations throughout the nation, and they’re coming to Downtown Brooklyn, so it’s really cool,” Epstein added.
With new jobs, new energy, and a commitment to linking residents to the life of the neighborhood, The Brook is positioning itself as more than a high-rise, it’s aiming to be a vertical community hub in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn.
