Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark says a Bronx man has been indicted on a murder charge for allegedly stabbing a man to death in Crotona Park East.
Antonio Jackson, 31, is accused of stabbing Aaron Carpenter multiple times with a 12-inch kitchen knife at around 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 near 1500 Bryant Ave.
Carpenter, 34, of Queens, knocked on Jackson’s door, and the two men started to argue, according to the indictment. When Carpenter left, Jackson grabbed the knife and followed him to the lobby, continuing to argue with him.
Prosecutors say Carpenter exited the building and Jackson attacked him from behind, stabbing him multiple times.
Carpenter was left crawling away from Jackson, onto the street, where he collapsed between two parked cars.
EMS rushed Carpenter to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died.
"This defendant allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times following a dispute,” said DA Clark. “The victim lay mortally wounded on the street, before paramedics were able to arrive at the scene."
Jackson faces additional charges, including manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. He is due back in court on May 29.
