        Prosecutors: Blackwood man murdered mother who tried to stop him from cutting out his tattoo

        James Doran was arrested in blood-soaked clothing after a high-speed chase with state police in his mother’s vehicle, according to court documents.

        A man from Blackwood was arrested and charged with murdering his own mother after she tried to stop him from cutting a tattoo out of his skin, according to court documents.
        Camden County prosecutors say it happened March 2 around 10 a.m. when police were called to the home on the 100 block Fairmount Avenue in Blackwood. They say detectives found 65-year-old Lillian Doran, of Blackwood, suffering from blunt force head trauma.
        Officials say Lillian lived in the home with several family members, including her 30-year-old son, James Doran. A witness also reported hearing banging sounds and a garage door opening around 4 a.m., court documents state. It says the victim’s vehicle was missing, and James was no longer at the residence.
        James was arrested in Bedford, Pennsylvania, in blood-soaked clothing after a high-speed chase with state police in his mother’s vehicle, according to prosecutors. There was also a baseball bat found inside the trunk of the vehicle.
        James was charged with one count of first-degree murder. He will be held at Bedford County Correctional Facility pending an extradition hearing.
