Temperatures are in the 20s across Brooklyn this Friday making it a dangerously cold day for the borough's beloved fish pond.
The Bed-Stuy Aquarium is covered with a plastic covering and organizers have put in upgrades including heated lamps and a filtration system.
When News 12 crews checked in on the pond Friday morning, the heated lamps were not on but the fish were alive and moving.
As we reported the aquarium started over the summer by neighbors looking to do something creative with a leaky fire hydrant.
The original pond was paved over by the city but neighbors rallied and created a new one close by.
