High temperatures Friday barely made it above freezing, feeling like below freezing all day long. Before getting out of the freezer Saturday afternoon, it will be the coldest morning since Feb. 25 with lows down to 24 degrees. It will feel like the teens as well, so make sure to bundle up with the heavier winter jackets and accessories.
Highs on Saturday will eventually reach 35 degrees, and with a light wind, it will feel like freezing or above for the first time since Wednesday evening when the flooding downpours rolled through the borough. Another bump in temperatures is expected Sunday with highs reaching near 40 degrees. More clouds are expected, however, as rain will be moving in later Sunday evening.
On-and-off rain showers are likely from Sunday 10 p.m. through Monday 10 a.m., meaning the Monday morning commute will be impacted by rain, moderate at times. Rain is not expected to be heavy or long-lasting, and most of Monday will be dry after 10 a.m. Another smaller storm could bring a couple more showers late Monday night and early Tuesday before breaking for sunshine and highs near 60 degrees.
It gets colder again behind these showers with a much colder pattern potentially setting up into the weekend before Christmas with a snow or rain chance just before Christmas. Stay tuned for updates.
