Temperatures will continue to trend below average for both the daytime highs and morning lows tonight and into the weekend. That is the bad news. The good news is that the winds will be very light.

Temperatures will not feel as frigid as they did Thursday, where temps felt into the 20s with gusts near 40 mph.

Expect a sunny Saturday with winter-like temperatures through the day, but it will still be a nice day for any outside activities. You'll just have to dress appropriately.

From Saturday night into Sunday, another clear and cold night comes in but then clouds start to approach the area.

Sunday starts off sunny but then turns cloudy through the midday hours.

A storm system will be approaching, bringing a fair amount of precipitation along with it. With temperatures running cold recently, and through the weekend, north of I-84 temps will be cold enough for a wintry mix to fall overnight.

South of that highway, temps will be a few degrees warmer, so cold rain will fall down.

For the morning rush, temperatures will gradually be moving up a few degrees. While the morning commute will have to deal with showers, most locations outside of the Catskills will deal with wet rather than icy roads.

Rain showers will fall on and off through the afternoon hours then taper off. Another system approached for Tuesday, bringing widespread rain to the area, but also warmer temps.

TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and breezy winds at times. Highs in the mid to upper 50s and lows in the mid-30s.

WEDNESDAY: Mix of sun and clouds with breezy winds at times. Feels: mid-30s to low 40s. Highs in the mid to upper 40s. Lows in the low to mid-30s.
