Authorities have officially confirmed the identities of five of the six people killed in a car crash in Newark earlier this month.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s office says brother Lamar McKnight, 31, and Darryl McKnight, 29, were killed, along with Darnell Carr, 22, Bradley Cunninham, 41 and Veronic Bailey, 31, in a single-car crash on Dec. 6.
Police say the car was on the ramp to Route 1 & 9 when it veered off the road, went airborne and hit a column for the Pulaski Skyway. The vehicle then caught fire.
The name of the sixth victim will be released pending DNA testing, according to officials.
