The holiday travel rush has begun and travel experts believe this season is going to be a record breaker.
Millions are expected to travel by airplane.
"I think there is still a lot of pent-up wanderlust from the pandemic lockdowns and that's why we see people fly so much," says Robert Sinclair, the senior manager of Public Affairs with the AAA.
That's why industry experts are urging travelers to get to the airport early. Also, make sure you download your airline's app to stay updated on any possible changes.
So far, travelers coming into the Westchester County Airport say things have been running smoothly.
"This is not too bad, I've seen worse. I've seen this (security) line go all the way outside," says Tiffany Jernigan who traveled to Westchester County from Florida.
Others faced some delays trying to get to other parts of the country.
"It started this morning with being two hours delayed and then we got to the airport, it pushed to three/four. Now, we're about five hours delayed," says Abby, who was trying to get to Wisconsin with her family.
Travel experts believe Sunday is going to be the busiest travel day of the holiday week.
They are urging travelers to plan ahead and be patient.
