A young Brooklyn resident is on a mission: to keep residents at Manhattan Beach hydrated and to help fund his future dream home.
Nine-year-old Benjamin is walking barefoot on the hot sand, selling cold water bottles and protein drinks to beachgoers.
He’s not just looking to make some pocket change. He’s working toward a big goal.
“I’m selling this so I can earn money,” Benjamin told News 12. “So I can get a good house when I grow up… with a pool. I always wanted this.”
He’s got the layout planned down to the last detail.
“A Jacuzzi...and I’ll have kids, so maybe two Jacuzzis so there’s more space,” he said. “And a TV in the back.”
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory through Wednesday, with real-feel temperatures expected to climb above 100 degrees in parts of the city.
Health officials are urging people to stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade or air conditioning and visit cooling centers if needed.
Benjamin says he’s planning to keep coming back to the beach throughout the summer.
