Two cats were found with suspected gunshot wounds in separate incidents in West Deptford, Gloucester County, police said.

West Deptford police said officers were contacted Thursday by Epic Veterinary Urgent Care in Cherry Hill after two cats were brought to the facility with suspected gunshot wounds.

Both animals suffered life-threatening injuries consistent with a small-caliber firearm or pellet gun, according to police.

The cats were found outdoors, one near Ford Avenue and May Avenue and the other near Crown Point Road and Church Street.

Both received immediate medical attention and were able to return home after extensive veterinary care.
