Fair weather has solidified the push offshore, bolstering the south-southwest winds that helped drive the temperatures to soar this afternoon. We missed tying a record by 6 degrees, but having a daily high temperature of 88 is something fairly significant for mid-September.
The warmer the air, the more moisture it can hold. We will be dealing with a series of disturbed weather situations that will bring opportunities for pockets of robust rainfall.
TONIGHT: Overcast with passing storms. Patchy fog develops by morning. Low around 67 degrees.
WEDNESDAY: Mainly cloudy. The onshore winds cool the temperatures, but it's still a few degrees warmer than normal. The chance of rain or storms happens after 8 p.m. and will continue through Thursday morning.
THURSDAY: The worst of the rain is expected to occur Thursday morning through lunchtime. Localized flooding might occur. I think the problem with the weather is timing. The rowdy rains could be troublesome for commuters and travelers.
