Police say an 80-year-old woman was crossing Main Street around 12:15 p.m. near the entrance to the Foodtown Grocery Store when she was hit by a car.
Hastings-on-Hudson police say the vehicle left the scene. Police were able get a description of the car from eyewitnesses and technology.

“The operator of the vehicle did not know he hit somebody, is what he says,” says Police Chief David Dosin.
Once they found it, police say the driver told them they didn't know they hit someone.
The vehicle has been impounded for the investigation.
“I saw several ambulances and cop cars and I just assumed there was something wrong in the road,” says Yonkers resident Patricia Petronella. “I feel terrible to even hear such a thing”
People say that area is usually very busy because of the grocery store, Main Street and the Broadway intersection that has five different directions. They say they take extra steps to make sure they're careful.
"It's not the best intersection because it's like five different roads meeting. It's old. Hastings is old so some people probably don't wait," says Hastings-on-Hudson resident Monika Hegley.
Police say the driver was issued a summons for leaving the scene of a personal injury auto accident.
Hastings-on-Hudson police say they aren't sure of the extent of the woman's injuries but know she had injuries to her right arm.
