Woman faces multiple charges after fleeing crash with patrol car in East Garden City

Upon further investigation, police say Shaquanna Gibbs and her passenger were found to be in possession of stolen property.

A Roosevelt woman accused of crashing into a police vehicle and then fleeing the scene was arrested on Friday.
Police say Shaquanna Gibbs was leaving the Roosevelt Field Mall parking lot when she struck the car.
She drove away as the officer began to approach her, striking him in the arm with her vehicle. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Officers later located her after she struck a curb and disabled her car.
Upon further investigation, police say Gibbs and her passenger were found to be in possession of stolen property.
Both she and the passenger were taken into custody, according to authorities.
The charges against Gibbs include assault, criminal possession of stolen property and numerous traffic violations.
