The suspect in the double fatal shooting of a 20-year-old Massachusetts woman and her 4-month-old son has been found, officials say.
Lance Morales was located by members of The U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force in Puerto Rico and taken into custody. Officials say he is being held on a $3 million bond and is awaiting extradition.
Earlier this week, an arrest warrant was approved, charging Morales with criminal possession of a firearm, assault, two counts of murder and murder with special circumstances.
Police say Morales shot Jessiah Mercado and Messiah Diaz while they sat inside a vehicle on New Britain Avenue in Hartford Tuesday afternoon.
A third victim was also shot, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
Police have not detailed what led up to the shooting.
